LYNN DROBBIN has over 35 years of experience in architectural history, preservation planning and environmental review. Lynn Drobbin founded the firm of Lynn Drobbin & Associates (LDA) in 1989 and has since that time, has contributed greatly to the documentation and preservation of the historic built environment in the tri-state metropolitan area.
LDA has expertise in the historic architectural review and documentation of a variety of historic resources including amusement park rides, large scale art installations, public buildings, historic districts, ferry terminals, railroad and highway bridges, rail and subway stations, rail yards, and the expansion, restoration or the establishment of new rail and highway corridors. LDA is certified as a WBE/DBE by many government agencies including Empire State Development, NYC, PANY&NJ, MTA, SCA, NJ TRANSIT, NYSDOT, ConnDOT, etc.
LDA has extensive experience working with architects, engineers and construction managers on the rehabilitation of historic structures. Skills include the ability to participate in the planning phases of design projects, assist in the writing of specifications and the interpretation of construction documents to ensure that historic preservation stipulations are met. LDA has successfully completed the rehabilitation, adaptive re-use and ADA compliance for a variety of historic structures including the recently completed Rehabilitation of the Hoboken Ferry Terminal, a $120 million, 8-year-long project, completed in November 2011. LDA has also conducted cultural resource analyses for many large environmental impact statements including the River Line LRT, Hudson-Bergen LRT, Monmouth-Ocean-Middlesex (MOM), Lackawanna Cut-Off, NYS&W and many others.
